Just a little update about the great things happening at Assikinack! And what is coming up!
Movie Night! 🍿
Come and join us for a fun family movie night tomorrow, Thursday November 27! Wear your cozy clothes, bring a blanket to sit on and snuggle in for a fun movie! Popcorn and water can be bought at the movie night for a minimal cost! Or….Bring your own favourite fun food! (Please be aware of allergies!) - Please, only bring water bottles to movie night!
Barrie Colts Game! 🏒
Our Assikinack Barrie Colts Game Fundraiser Night is January 10,2026! Tickets go on sale on School CashOnline today, Wednesday November 26! Multiple flyers and emails will be coming to remind families to join in the fun! A Barrie Colts hockey game is always a great family and community night out! We are kicking off this fundraiser with a visit from 2 players from the Barrie Colts and don’t forget Charlie Horse on Monday December 1! We will host them at our school with some Barrie Colts ENERGY!! Wear blue, red or yellow that day, or if you have any Barrie Colt’s swag! Let’s show them some Assikinack love!
School Council Meeting Coming Up! 😃
Our next School Council meeting will be at the Assikinack Library at 6:00 on Monday December 1, 2025 at 6:00 pm! Come on out and be a part of a great community!
Garden Gallery Fundraiser 🪷
Gift cards will be available for families to pick up at the school starting Thursday November 27, which is also the date of movie night at the school.
Grade 8 Swag! 👕
Super fun opportunity for our Grade 8 students this year! Grade 8 students will have the opportunity to purchase and design their own Grade 8 Swag Sweaters this year! We will be doing this the first week of February and this is when students can design their own grade 8 hoodie! This will be on School CashOnline as of today, Wednesday November 26 and special order forms will be available in the office for customizing sweaters! Reach out to Mrs. Bowman for more information!
Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week 🩷
#TeamKind has been focussed on learning about Empathy all week, when addressing the issue of Bullying Awareness and ways to prevent bullying. Students have read books, made pledges, watched videos, worked in groups to learn about Empathy. We have created a school mural about Empathy and what it means and how Empathy can help stop bullying. Empathy means putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and imagining how they feel. When we practice empathy, we notice if someone is sad, hurt, or left out—and we choose kindness instead of teasing. Bullying happens when people forget that others have feelings too. By learning empathy, kids can become helpers, friends, and upstanders who make school a safe and happy place. Remember: a little kindness can change someone’s whole day!
Winter Concert - Coming up! ☃️
Our Winter Holiday Concert will take place on Wednesday December 17, 2025 between 11:15 and 12:55! Mark the date! More information to come! Families are welcome to attend! It will be a jolly winter time here at Assikinack! ❄️

Life Gets a Bit Messy! 👏
As our world at school gets a bit messy and we tend to share many things including germs and colds!....we always love donations of paper towel and kleenex for our students! We would greatly appreciate any donations you wish to bring us! Thank you!!
